Electrolysis hair removal is the only official method approved by the FDA that achieves permanent hair removal. The customer will require multiple sessions in order to achieve the best possible results, and may need top-up sessions throughout the year but permanent hair removal isn’t 100% guaranteed for everyone, as there are many factors that can effect it such as hormonal imbalances, pregnancy and menopause.
How Does It Work
A very fine needle-shaped electrode, or metal probe introduces an electrical current into each hair follicle to destroy the root, and this can be galvanic, thermolysis or a blend.
Hair growth in has three stages: growing (anagen), resting (catagen) and shedding (telogen). The hair growth cycle will differ in different stages of growth on all of the body and it is due to this that multiple sessions are needed. A hair has to be in the anagen phase for electrolysis hair removal to be most effective- similar to laser hair removal.
It has the best track record. Electrolysis has the best overall results (on small areas), versus any other method, in getting rid of hair for longer periods of time if not permanently.
All skin types and hair colours can benefit. Unlike IPL (intense pulsed light) it does not target pigmentation (this determines hair and skin colour), but attacks and works to destroy the hair follicle itself.
